JUDY WILSON, CertHE, PG Dip Contemporary Therapeutic Counselling
Modern life can be complicated and is often stressful resulting in distress and associated symptoms which may include, depression, anxiety, lack of confidence, addictions and complex issues around food and eating, sleep problems, difficulties in relationships and a lack of self-awareness. This leaves many people with a sense of loss of meaning in their lives, and seeking a greater sense of fulfilment.
Counselling provides a safe, confidential place for people to talk about their concerns and feelings and the obstacles they face in life.
My therapy is rooted in the psychodynamic tradition. I aim to help you to understand and be more aware of yourself and to explore your deep seated and often unconscious emotions thereby alleviating distress and its symptoms. What starts out as a problem can often be a turning point towards self-discovery and I provide support for people to achieve real change in their lives.I am a friendly and experienced counsellor with experience in the NHS, private and voluntary sector services and adhere to the ethical and legal guidelines of my accrediting body. This includes a commitment to regular, ongoing supervision to maintain a good quality of care for my clients. I am also committed to professional development to support me in working with a diverse client base.
I offer counselling at Kings Cross, London, and Stanstead Abbotts, Herts, to people over the age of 17 from any race, class, cultural background or sexual orientation. Therapy can be either long-term or on a time limited basis according to the needs of each individual.
Sessions are booked at a set time and day each week and last 50 minutes.
